Building Connections with Brand Photography

Shoot Advice

You just can’t overstate the importance of having a good personal brand in today’s world, especially as an entrepreneur. A picture can say so much about your business – capturing your values, personality and style – if done right! But creating emotionally resonant brand photography is more crucial than ever because we’re all looking to find and build real, honest connections.

Authenticity and Connection

It may seem like a distant memory, but the pandemic highlighted the importance of true connection – in our lives and businesses. When it comes to brand photography, this means capturing the essence of your business and the people behind it in a way that feels genuine. Great brand photography is about more than just showing off your products or services; it’s about telling your unique story and connecting with your audience on a deeper level so they feel they know you!

One of the best ways to achieve this is through storytelling. The photo should tell the story of the people, the products or services, and the brand’s values. It should create an emotional connection with the audience and illustrate why they should care and be invested in your brand.

Personality and Values

Your brand photography should reflect your personality and values as a business. That means incorporating your brand colours, style, and tone into your photos. A great way to do this is to work with your photographer to create a really vibey mood board that captures the style, essence and feel you want for your shoot. That way, it can serve as a guide to help you both stay on the same page about the end result!

Natural Lighting and Locations

Alright, let’s get outside and soak up some sunshine! It’s no secret that after being cooped up for so long during lockdown but also our winters, we are often craving a little taste of nature. And it turns out we’re not alone! Outdoor locations, bright airy spaces and natural lighting are all the rage for brand photography and let me tell you – there’s nothing quite like the magic of natural light to capture the heart and soul of your business.

The soft, warm, and inviting atmosphere created by natural lighting is exactly what you need to showcase your brand’s essence. And hey, let’s not forget about the timing! The golden hour – that hour just after sunrise and before sunset – is the absolute perfect time to snap those stunning shots. The golden glow adds depth and texture to make your brand shine!

Mindful of your Audience

When it comes to capturing the perfect shot, you want to keep in mind who you’re targeting and what message you want to convey. Consider your brand values and the emotions you want to evoke in your audience. By really understanding your audience and their needs, you can create brand photography that speaks to them on a deeper level. Let’s get those cameras clicking!
