London brand shoot with Financial Coach and Wingwoman Tanya Ibberson

UK Brand Shoots

Do you ever come across people who have the most engaging smile and energy about them – well this is how it felt being around Tanya and we had so many laughs on her shoot as part of her rebrand with Nicki (Just Brand You) that I got a stitch and cheek ache!

Tanya is the Financial Wingwoman – she doesn’t just help you understand your numbers and finances, she empowers you to feel confident in your finances, to have financial stability and take back control.

Knowing that there was going to be some fabulous pops of colour in the branding and web design, our location was purposefully simple – we used No55 of Menier Venues and it was all about showcasing the personality and fun that Tanya brings to life – not your average accountant here!  It was a fabulous team effort on this London brand shoot with Nicki on brand direction and Pipa on hair and makeup.

“I was worried generally about being in front of the camera. This is always my worry, but this wasn’t something I needed to worry about at all! You made me completely at ease, and it was like a big day out with my bestest friends with Pipa and Nicki too! We had such a laugh, I was completely relaxed. Even with my bum sweat after schlepping across the city in my spanx!!”

“There wasn’t any specific stand-out moments really – lots of laughter, lots of experimenting, lots of outfit changes, and some fabulous photos to show for it all.  I would say “You need Amanda in your life, put you might need a Tena lady”

The images have helped enormously. I’ve had no end of compliments on the photos, alongside my new branding. Everyone says how they capture me, and how much they set me apart from others in my industry. They are just fabulous, I love them.”

What first got you into your field?

I never actually had dreams of being an accountant when I was growing up. My goal, whilst in sixth form, was to find a way to still learn and find a career I loved, but without going to university and getting into debt. An opportune advert on the school careers noticeboard provided me with that escape route, and here I am!

What’s your favourite thing about the work that you do?

I absolutely love that no two clients of mine are the same. They all have different business, and different needs of me. They require different skills, and different levels of support. It means that no two days are the same, and my work is equal amounts of hand holding, supportive phone calls, tough love, and getting the work done. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

What is a ‘reality’ of your work that other people don’t realise?

A lot of people think of getting their accounts and tax returns done as a means to an end, and they are. They’re a pain, and no one actively asks for a tax bill at the end of it so I often feel like the Grinch who stole Christmas. But what people don’t realise is that the numbers that I work with and generate can do so much more for their future financial direction than they realise. The numbers of any business shout volumes about what is working and what isn’t working, what generates large profit margins and what loses money, how much cash is available for investments and how much cash needs to be saved for liabilities. I can always see what a client needs, when it comes to their finances, but they often don’t see it because they’re ‘in’ their businesses too much of the time. Having a helicopter view of the business is what I can provide them.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? (can be on anything!)

Don’t put off to tomorrow what can be done today.
I’m still not so great at this, but when I do push myself to follow my own advice, I always end up being rewarded with an opportunity to spend extra time with friends and peers, or more time with family. When you work for yourself, it’s hard to juggle all the things, but working to deadlines usually creates more stress. When you think you’re done for the day, tick just one more thing off the list. You’ll thank yourself for it tomorrow!
