This was my last brand shoot of 2020, what a strange year that was… But despite the chaos of 2020, my clients still bought all the fun and passion to their shoots, it’s why I love them!
So in December, on a pretty chilly day (of course it was, December in the UK – it was never going to be warm!) Anyway, we started this London brand shoot in Covent Garden, which in normal times, in the run up to Christmas would have been heaving with people, however, it was pretty quiet. We weren’t shooting in the main area of Covent Garden, nope… There is a particular row of bright red phone boxes that we were heading to as they are the spot on colour for Claire’s branding, and were actually part of her moodboard – exploring the streets of London pays off!
One of the things I spend a lot of time doing in preparation for London brand shoots is scouting locations, not just for the right vibe, but also the colours used in each brand I work with, so that it helps create a cohesive aesthetic to the rest of their brand assets. And in all the amazing clients I’ve worked with, bright red is the first time, and I loved it!
In addition to having the location have pops of red in Covent Garden, we then headed to a more neutral crisp location so that we could bring in the pops of red through the use of props – namely an amazing bright red umbrella. We also added in a spot of Christmas decor, as whilst those images had a limited shelf life being so close to Christmas last year, Claire now has them ready for any festive marketing messages she may have this year! It’s all about the planning and thinking ahead to your business needs.
“I didn’t have any fear as I knew I was in safe hands. The planning before was great and I had a clear picture of what I wanted… going through the outfits and working out where we would go and the look. I absolutely LOVED that you actually found the exact location of one of my mood-board photoshoot pictures of the red phone boxes in Covent Garden. Amazing!
It’s so great to find a creative photographer especially that understands what you want to do and achieve.”
Then we definitely need to chat!
The LOVE of art. I would sit in my room as a child and just draw, copy album covers, especially Madonnas. I have always loved art and studying at art school to fulfill my dream.
Seeing the reaction on my clients faces when they see what I have created for them.
Just how passionate I am about my job and how I LOVE what I do.
Never give up, follow your dreams. How big or small.
Unfortunately i’m allergic to fruit so can’t drink cocktails. I do LOVE Prosecco or Champagne if a special occasion.
