London brand photography – working with brand coach Nicki

Nicki Nicki Nicki, where do I start?! I have been working with the fabulous Nicki since the end of 2017 and every time we get together it feels like we’ve never been apart! Her energy and her buzz is infectious and the passion she brings to everything she puts her mind to is inspiring.

With every shoot we’ve done, it feels like we’ve grown more in synch with how we work together, it’s one of the reasons I love working with clients over a long period. I become aligned with their brand, seeing it grown and change and means when I am out and about, if I spot something I know will work for that client, I keep it noted for when we next have a shoot.

Nicki is the firecracker behind B By Nicki (you can see where to follow her at the bottom of the post) and what she doesn’t know about branding and visibility for your business is frankly not worth knowing about. She has a magic skill of being able to take what her clients have in their head as a business and transform it into a compelling brand.

Through Nicki I’ve really learnt to understand that a brand is so much more than just the aesthetics, and whilst I’m not quite there on the visibility side of things (I know she’ll tell me off!) I am getting better, occasionally stepping out from behind the camera.

Each shoot Nicki and I have done has had a purpose, aligned with her marketing plan or business activity. So for instance, we’ve created imagery for her group programme, her course and her fabulous in person workshop (which I’m gutted I can’t attend), so being intentional with each shoot has meant we’ve had a clear focus and can use that time wisely and effectively.

We have also been creative and different each time as one of the key brand values of Nicki is to “be you”, so her imagery has to reflect who she is and her individuality. We have such a giggle on a shoot! And it’s one of the things I love about working with Nicki, we are always trying to keep it fresh but still relevant to her brand. So you’ll see from each shoot, just how different and varied we’ve been, and you may well have seen these littered over social media, as she is the Visibility Queen!
