More and more coaches are realising that they need to be the face of their business, to build that know like and trust factor, and they can burn through images in quite some time if they are showing up consistently to their audience.
Anna from Dreams and Beyond Coaching is a business and success coach, helping her clients, the CEOS of their business to thrive in their business and create the life they have dreamed of.
As with all of my clients, the key for Anna’s shoot was to show her personality. And many of my clients come to me not feeling overly comfortable in front of the camera, so we do a lot of work to plan the shoot, to remove the fear of the unknown that contributes to that fear and lack of confidence. And I knew for Anna, choosing locations that reflected her brand but wasn’t full of the hustle and bustle of London was important. So we found quiet areas that aligned with her brand colours and had fun. It also helped that her fiancée came along, which not only helped with holding the changes of clothes and bags (thank you!) but also helped put Anna at ease all the more. You see, you don’t have to come to your shoot alone if you think it will help (although for some, that can make it even stranger!)
“I was totally clueless to be honest 🙂 I don’t really like posing for camera so I didn’t want to look tense or stressed on the pictures. Luckily, I felt relaxed with you. Maybe because you were easy to talk to and it would take my mind off what was happening but maybe because you were great at directing me so I didn’t have to worry about where or how to stand.
Professional pictures are a must in business. The shoot images helped me to show who I am and what my business is about. it showed my personality and luckily all the colours fit also really well with my brand 🙂 Professional photos show that you are serious about your business and help people to take you seriously too.
You are easy to work with and you do a lot of work to prepare which made me more relaxed prior to the photoshoot. I like that you had given me advice on what to wear and what to bring as I was panicking 🙂 Also I like that you have given me all the pictures* so that I can choose whichever I liked the most (many photographers only given you a certain amount).”
* I don’t cap the number of images I provide on my regular shoots; I provide a guide on how many can be expected from a shoot, but if we create more content, then I provide all the edited images from the shoot!
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR LIFESTYLE BRAND IMAGERY FOR YOUR BUSINESS?
Let’s chat more to see how we can capture your brand and personality to really up-level your online presence.
What first got you into your field?
I wanted to be an entrepreneur since I was 14 but at that stage, I didn’t know what business I wanted to be in. My first career in Hospitality gave me a lot of experience about management, leadership and how to run a large department on my own. That’s when I came across mentoring and coaching. I totally loved it then but I’ve never thought that it would be my future.
In 2012 I had a burnout that made me realize that health, well-being and work-life balance are more important than killing myself for a fast career progression. After 9 years I’ve moved to Investment Banking as I wanted to have a better work and life balance. I know it sounds funny but my hours were much better than in hospitality 🙂 I liked it but there was something missing.
In 2018 I didn’t get the promotion for the job that I had been doing unofficially for two years. It was frustrating but I believe that whatever happens, happens for a reason. That’s when I decided to finally pursue a coaching qualification.
Now I love what I do. I work with female entrepreneurs and CEOs and help them not to only grow their businesses but also thrive personally and professionally. I’ve always liked learning and I believe that personal development is essential to success. I’ve done my MBA for Executives with Global Perspective and it was very heavily focused on entrepreneurship.
Looking back at my experience, everything made sense, even though I haven’t really known where I was going. Business and Success Coaching is perfect for me as I believe there is so much I can share with other women and help them to be successful in both life and business.
What’s your favourite thing about the work that you do?
Interaction with other driven females and seeing them succeed in life and business. I’m literally buzzing after every call with my clients 🙂
What is a ‘reality’ of your work that other people don’t realise?
There is a lot of stuff behind the scenes: structures and procedures have to be in place, social media content needs to be relevant and up to date, strategic and financial planning, etc. I run a one woman show at the moment so every single thing falls on me. I think many people think that coaching spends all day coaching others but it’s not true. Most of the time we spend running and growing our businesses. I prepare for every call even if I’ve worked with a client for a while. It is important that I am on my best form when I have a coaching conversation. Learning and self-development takes also time. I am currently doing my second coaching qualification and also a part of a group coaching with one of the best coaches out there.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Be yourself as you are unique and have a lot to offer the world.
When I was growing up, I wanted to be like someone else but with years I realized that being myself it all what matters. That’s why I love coaching, it’s about a client, not you. they are unique and they are perfect the way they are. They have all the answers and they have a lot to offer to this world.
What’s your cocktail / mocktail of choice?
I don’t really drink cocktails 🙂 but Aperol Spritz is my to go drink in summer.
