A brand shoot with beauty business owner Nickie – Chill Beauty, Wakefield.

I love that my job means I get to work with a wide range of business owners, and today I want to share with you the fabulous brand shoot with business beauty owner Nickie who runs Chill Beauty in Wakefield.

The purpose behind the brand shoot was to create images that aligned with the upcoming brand refresh that Sage Brand and Styling were working on, we needed to showcase the beautiful and calming space that is Chill Beauty (both with Covid measures in place and for when we return to more normal times, ensuring longevity of the images) but also the team that are so passionate about their work and Chill Beauty.  Finally, we needed to showcase Nickie, as the beauty business owner and expert within her field, to build a personal brand for her for some very exciting things she has on the horizon.

 

The shoot was great fun, we had lots of laughs and I loved meeting the team and bringing them out of their comfort zone to show off their personality.  And if Wakefield wasn’t so far away, I’d definitely be becoming a regular there for beauty and wellness treats!

 

 

“I really dislike having my photo taken, and I never seem to like photos that are taken of me. When I had the shoot, it was completely different. Amanda made me feel so relaxed and comfortable and I really enjoyed the whole experience.  My favourite part of the shoot was when we had the team all together having fun and the photos look so relaxed.”

Having the photos has made it so much easier for me to tell my story on social media and to promote the salon. I launched a new Instagram after my rebrand and the comments that I have had have been amazing. The photos have really helped to boost my rebrand.”

 

 

Let’s get to know Nickie a little more…

 

What first got you into your field?

I have always been a caring person and originally worked with children. When I decide to have a change I career, I was drawn to beauty as I liked the idea of making people feel good about themselves. I have always loved making people feel pampered and love seeing the change in them when they have had a treatment.

 

What’s your favourite thing about the work that you do?

I love making clients feel better about themselves. If the client leaves the salon feeling more relaxed and pampered then I am happy.

I enjoy seeing the results that we achieve from the skincare end facials that we use.

 

What is a ‘reality’ of your work that other people don’t realise? 

When I decided a few years ago that I would no longer carry out treatments, people would ask “what are you going to do then? Running a beauty salon and a team and continuously training to make sure the salon is up to date with the latest treatments is a job in itself. I don’t think people realise how much training is actually involved.

 

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

To focus on the good. I really try to do this everyday even if the situation that I’m in seems a negative one, I try to look a what good might come out of it.
